OceansWatch Australia OceansWatch Australia is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that works with sailors, divers, scientists and other conservation groups worldwide to help Island communities in developing countries conserve their marine environments.

Our activities include:

  • monitoring of reefs, marine habitats and coastal ecosystems in south east Asia and Melanesia
  • preservation of fish stocks, marine habitats and natural resources
  • networking with other conservation groups, researchers, sailors and divers around the world
  • engaging volunteers in coastal and marine conservation projects, marine education and training programs,
  • coordinating projects that will contribute to resilient Island communities and include mitigation or adaptation measures for climate change
  • community awareness raising, capacity building and
  • marine education programs for remote Island communities in developing countries

Our Overriding Vision

Long term sustainable fisheries and effective preservation of marine ecosystems in developing countries, and the empowerment and education of people in coastal communities in these countries.
